Dear Readers,
I have been pleased and somewhat astonished at the number of readers I have gained since beginning this blog.
As you may have noticed, I have also struggled with an appropriate title and have gone through several. While I am stuck with the sighsmatters.typepad.com address, the first title for the blog, I think I have now hit upon a title I'm happy with. A DISTAFF VIEW OF THE WORLD.
Distaff is an old world word for female. I like the way it sounds and it reflects my personality in many ways.
At the suggestion of someone whose opinion I respect, I'm going to make a genuine attempt to not harp on political matters all of the time, but enlarge my scope to a smattering of other topics.
A distaff view of the world, of course.
