Arrogance, Disrespect, Contempt and Tunnel Vision: The Unfortunate State of the Union

I was in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, but arrived home in time to watch - reluctantly - The State of the Union as presented by the current resident of The White House.

I don't know why I expect him to change, but he never does. He's a robot programmed to be a Progressive, and no matter what input the majority of the nation sends to him, his programming is firmly in place. Mock, isolate, destroy.

I hear over and over again how brilliant he is. Don't try to argue with a Progressive about that fact. It's as settled as the science for climate change, formerly known as Global Warming.

This supposed brilliance continues to escape me.

I see a man who can't speak without several teleprompters - and even then makes mistakes by re-reading things he's already said and not realizing it.

I see a man who had no idea how to run anything, much less a country, when he was elected, and proceeded to surround himself with people of equal or superior incompetence.

I see a man who thinks we have 57 states.

I see a man who struts along in his empty suit with his chin arrogantly pointed skyward. He will not endure criticism. He will not endure dissent. He will not endure the input of information by anyone except those who march with him in lockstep.

I see a man who is incapable of making good decisions but, worse yet, is too full of himself to back away from a bad decision and altering course. I see no need to enumerate these to the readers. If you're here, you already know exactly what those stupid decisions are.

He is a former professor - though not really a professor apparently - who taught Constitutional Law, but has little or no understanding of that precious document. And those things he does understand, he doesn't like. Separation of Powers is a glaring example.

He is a lawyer who misinterpreted a decision by the Supremes, put them front and center at his State of the Union address, only to take them to task in public - a show of breath taking disrespect - knowing they couldn't respond. Misinterpreted is, perhaps, putting it kindly. Misrepresented is probably more accurate.

It was no doubt Bush's fault.

I see a man who thinks he's one of the intellectual elite and the rest of us are here to do his bidding. He has surrounded himself with other intellectual elites who couldn't fill a thimble with commonsense - something this country is in desperate need of.

I see a man who is all flash and no substance, but dangerous nonetheless because beneath that smiling exterior is, I believe, the heart of a sociopath who will do anything - say anything - threaten anyone - to get where he wants to go.

This is not a man on whom any of us should turn our backs. Ever.

We must watch him and those progressive elitists who surround him. Vigilance is paramount with this administration.

We must understand his language for what it is: poll tested to make the unpalatable palatable.

We must understand that he lies while looking us in the eye (when he isn't gazing into one of his teleprompters.).

And we must understand that he means to do us, our children and our grandchildren great harm.

That, my friends, is the unfortunate State of the Union.
