The following is part of an article from the Czech Republic newspaper Prager Zeitung, published on April 28, 2010 that zeros in on what I think is the really serious problem in this wonderful country of ours.
A friend sent the quote to me. I tracked down the source to make sure it was authentic.
It reads as follows:
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.
"The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.
"The Republic, after all, can survive a Barack Obama, who is after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive the multitude of fools who made him their President."
As someone who said over and over again prior to the election that Obama was incompetent, disingenuous and not nearly as smart as everyone said he was, I don't think there's much I can add to what this man said.
How embarrassing for us, as a nation, to have the Czech Republic understand and point out our weakness as a nation at this moment.
The thing is, this country said it out loud. The rest of the world is snickering behind their hands - at least those who aren't planning to blow us up while we have such a weak, indecisive creature at the helm.
