Several things have happened recently that have made me frightened for Israel and the Jewish people in general.
First, I attended a dinner where an Iranian journalist who had spoken out against the government in Iran and been jailed in that country, mostly in solitary confinement, for six years, received half a million dollars and was awarded "The Friedman Prize" named after the late economist Milton Friedman, for his 'contributions' to liberty. I thought when I read his biography, wow, what a great guy.
Then he had someone read a speech he'd written for the occasion. Over and over again he slammed Israel. By the time he was finished, I found I could not applaud his 'courage' in fighting Khomeni. He was just another anti-Semite whose intellect couldn't put him over the hump of his Muslim ideology.
I wanted my money back for having participated in giving him this award. Frankly, if it were in my power, I would have taken the prize back.
When I remarked on the man's anti-semitism to a Danish man seated beside me, it was clear that the anti-semitic remarks hadn't bothered him at all. The Israelis were the bad guys; the aggressors. What business did they have taking over the Palestinian State?
This from a man whose own country has been overrun with Muslims demanding Sharia law be enforced rather than Danish. Amazing.
The day after Israel was acknowledged as a state by the U.S. the attacks by the Arabs began and they haven't let up since. Poor, poor Palestinians, under the thumb of those awful people for all those years as the Israeli's thrived and prospered on the speck of land that, until the Jews arrived, no one wanted.
Just a little piece of trivia here, but though Israel had disappeared from the face of the earth for a couple of thousand years, they did indeed once exist. Even I have read the Bible.
Now we have the "freedom flotilla". I awoke to news of those terrible Israeli's, attacking the "freedom flotilla" and not letting aid get to Gaza. I thought that, if it was true, it wasn't nice.
Silly me. I should have known it was anti-Israeli propaganda. It was obvious the moment I saw the video of these 'peace loving' organizations beating unarmed Israeli Defense Fighters with iron pipes (I don't know about you, but I always have an iron pipe close at hand, just in case, you know) and throwing them overboard, causing at least one young solider permanent brain damage.
Has anyone seen this horrific video of the attack of defenseless Israelis on mainstream media? I've been looking, but still haven't come across it.
I also didn't see mentioned anywhere but on Fox News that both Israel and Egypt had offered to allow the boats to dock, unload their cargo and deliver it themselves to Gaza. Sounds like a rational offer, considering that Israel was trying to avoid weapons being smuggled into Gaza by the flotilla.
This offer was rejected. The question has to be asked: Why? Could it be that aid wasn't what this was about, but causing a confrontation was what they really wanted?
Another question has to be asked. Why deliver the ten tons of supplies by sea when Egypt had given the go ahead to cross its borders to deliver them? And why are the ten tons so important?
Is there an awareness that Israel itself delivers eighteen tons of aid a week to Gaza? somehow Red Cross and The Red Crescent, along with Aid for Children and the United Nations manage to get aid to Gaza without any trouble.
This raises another question because so far none of their actions are logical if their goal was truly to get aid to Gaza: Who exactly comprises the Freedom Flotilla?
Let's start with the Turkish group IHH. According to a Danish Institute study, the Turkish authorities began investigating IHH more than a decade earlier when they were told that senior IHH members were purchasing automatic weapons for radical Islamic organizations (which don't really exist. Shhhhhh.)
The IHH office in Istanbul was raided. What was found? Weapons; bomb making instructions and explosives and a Jihadi flag. Also discovered were documents that specified IHH members were making plans to take part in Jihad activities in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya.
France's top terrorist judge said, "The IHH has clear, longstanding ties to terror and Jihad." France!
IHH also played a role in the thwarted attempt to bomb the LA International Airport. If the media once knew this, they've forgotten it now.
This, readers, is the organization that provided three of the ships.
Does anyone still wonder why the Israelis wanted to check the cargo they were carrying before it got to Gaza?
Then we have "Free Gaza" (who claims to be a humanitarian organization, not political - but I kind of think their name gives them away). Three big emotional, media and financial supporters of this group are none other than American terrorist Bill Ayers and his lovely terrorist bride, Bernadine, as well as the founder of Code Pink. Three humanitarians if ever they were.
More than fifty people on the "Free Gaza" ships were found to have terrorist ties.
According to Arab media reports, the flotilla participants were writing wills and preparing for martyrdom (got to get at those virgins). It was break the Israeli blockade or die. A blockade put in place to save Israeli lives from people who begin teaching their children before pre-school that Jews are 'pigs' , 'apes' and less than human, and deserve to die for no reason other than that they are Jews.
Nice people those Muslims. People who have accomplished nothing in over a thousand years denigrating a race that has more Nobel Prize winners in the sciences than any other.
Does this sound like a peaceful, just want to get aid to Gaza flotilla to anyone with a solitary little gray cell left in their brain? I mean, besides MSNBC or Aljazeera. Or President Obama and his administration.
Not that I'm accusing them of having any gray cells at all, mind you.
Here's a beauty from Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism (of course, again, there are no terrorists), John Brennan. And I quote: "On all my travels, the city I have come to love most is al-Cuds."
I heard that and I thought, where on earth is that? Turns out it's what Islamist extremists call Jerusalem.
Where else is the name al-Cuds used? The military wing of the Palestinian terror group is called the 'al-Cuds Brigade.' There is also an al-Cuds unit in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
So our own Assistant to the President refers, not to Jerusalem, giving it and Israel the dignity they deserve, but refers to the city by an Islamist - a terrorist - name.
Where is the outrage?
Our president might not be a Muslim, but his early seven years of training and indoctrination in the religion has clearly taken its toll when it comes to his dealings with Israel.
The IDF, as they boarded those ships, brought paint guns. They didn't want to kill anyone. They were beaten senseless by men who just happened to have steel pipes. It's on the video, people. Watch it and see who the aggressors are.
But in the press, to the United Nations, and in the world view, the Israelis are once again the bad guys.
Socialists managed to get together an anti-Israeli protest in Times Square overnight. Anti-Israeli? Did anyone see that on the news?
Reporter Helen Thomas, who despite her press credentials proudly calls herself a liberal - I mean, Obama isn't Marxist enough for this woman - clearly hasn't seen the video or done her homework, but definitely has an agenda. She asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the Israeli 'massacre' of those freedom loving people in the flotilla.
Am I living in an alternate universe?
Can we please just get these nuts out of office as quickly as possible and go back to helping our only friend in the Middle East? Israel.
Should I re-write this in Urdu so our president understands it?
