I'm watching television and this crawl appears at the bottom of the screen: a Spanish court has agreed to consider opening a criminal case against six former Bush administration officials over torture allegations at Gitmo. Human Rights attorneys brought the case against ex-Bush officials, including former Attorney General Roberto Gonzalez, before an anti-terror judge in Spain who agreed to move it forward. Spanish law allows courts to reach beyond national borders in cases of torture or war crimes, though only one suspect has ever been extradited to Spain.
I'm guessing this guy wasn't locked up because he was rude to his mother. I'd like to see his file. I'm going to be the odd man out here and assume the terrorist is the liar and not the United States. Assumptions are so wrong, I know. But what do you think most people are assuming? What with 'terrorism' being a banned word and all. Hush my mouth.
